12 imagesDunes of Saint Anthony in Idaho. Towering 400 feet - they are the ultimate playground for off-road bikers. Made of quartz sand they exhibit smooth shapes and dense texture quality. Pastel white during daylight, in soft early evening shadow they suddenly turn dark. I arrived at the location early afternoon. Rain from night before added extra density to sand's feel and look. I was immediately drawn to strong lines left behind swiftly moving motorbikes. That blank canvas of sand seemed perfectly suited for this unintentional visual interruption. Sometime before sunset dune riders left the scene. Their rubber tire signature lasted till sunrise.

15 imagesThese are few of many vibrant, wild and full of color hot springs in Yellowstone. This National Park sits on top of an active underground lava concentration that heats up many parts of this region. Microscopic organisms that thrive in this boiling environment add color and life to hundreds of acidic springs throughout Yellowstone. This organic canvas like nature itself is ever-changing and it's next incarnation is uncertain. I took this series from a hight of 2000 feet (600 meters) through a small open window on the side of a helicopter that was tilted 45° downwards. This allowed me to point the camera completely down and approach the scene head on. From this vintage point this landscape became something entirely different.
